We are going to be releasing a few articles over the next few days, about how to cope at this time. Here is the first:
Working from home
I don’t know about you but I have been so overwhelmed with all this Coronavirus stuff. I have cried, panicked, made myself have symptoms and also just, in general, pushed myself to a limit. I have stressed about everything from the cat having enough food, losing family members to the fact that I have asthma. Then the big fear. We could have the kids at home for up to THREE MONTHS according to t
Dr Rob Orford, the Welsh Government’s chief scientific adviser for health.
Look it is going to be hard but we are all in this together and guess what…we got this! So I wrote this for you if you’re feeling anxiety about the coronavirus and if you have been asked to self isolate or work from home.
If you have never worked from home it can be daunting and you can feel isolating, which is ironic as we are self-isolating! Look there are some key things that you can implement to help you through this time.
Make sure that you get up and get dressed, look I am the first at screwing this up and staying in my PJ’s but I make sure that I get up and go set up my work area. Schedule your day, make sure that in the same way if you were working from the office that you take breaks and that doesn’t mean go clean the kitchen it means TAKE A BREAK! Get up, go up and down the stairs a few times, do some stretches, dance around, watch a tv show…EAT! Yes, that is right, eat. I mean you will eat but make sure that you eat proper food! Stop grazing!
Being honest with you that schedule that I wrote about earlier can make you feel like you are really achieving stuff as you are actually able to see what you have done. Make sure that you give yourself fun and creative to do to relax your brain as well.
I do have one last thing I want to tell you about working at home, you can be really productive and have a good work-life balance. Make sure you switch off and take time to be you as it is easy to fall into a hole.
