At My Discombobulated Brain, we believe festivals should be spaces where everyone feels safe, supported, and free to enjoy the energy of the event. While festivals offer incredible opportunities for joy, connection, and self-expression, they can also be overwhelming for some attendees. We’re here to make sure that mental health and well-being are prioritised, safeguarding your guests and providing the support they need to fully embrace your event.
Our Founder and CEO, Laura Dernie, knows first-hand the powerful role festivals can play in mental health. For over a decade, festivals were her sanctuary—places where she felt connected and at peace. However, after
experiencing a panic attack at a festival in 2021, Laura realised how crucial it was to have mental health resources readily available. That moment inspired the creation of My Discombobulated Brain’s Festival Mental Health Support Programme.
“Festivals bring immense joy and connection, but they can also challenge your mental resilience. It’s vital to create spaces where people feel safe, supported, and able to process their emotions.” – Laura Dernie, Founder of My Discombobulated Brain.
